Biography
Mallory is happy to have returned to her hometown of Seattle. Having lived, worked and performed all over the country, she has most notably worked in the greater Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia areas. Mallory holds a BM in Music Education (with current PreK-12 Teaching Credential for Band, Choir, and Orchestra), an MM in Vocal Performance, and is currently in the last year of her Doctoral program in Vocal Performance at the University of Washington (UW). Mallory is a voice student of Thomas Harper, and is preparing to give her third and final Doctoral recital in February 2025 (date/time TBA).
In addition to performing, Mallory also enjoys the more technical aspects of live performance. She has stage managed various high school productions (including Crazy for You, and Matilda), and has assistant directed, music directed, and produced several student performances in both her undergraduate and graduate programs. Most recently, Mallory has been fortunate to study direction and production with Kelly Kitchens, and assisted directed Kitchens’ production of Charpentier's Les arts florissants (UW School of Music 2024), as well as UW’s Spring ‘24 Opera Scenes.
She has sung several operatic roles, including Rose Maurrant in Street Scene, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and can be seen as Quinn in UW Opera’s upcoming production of Alice Tierney in March 2026. Mallory has also played Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Esther Smith in Meet Me in St. Louis, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and Cinderella in Into the Woods. She has frequently participated in NATS competitions, having won twice in the LA chapter, and has had the opportunity to work with Elena Mindina and Angel Blue in masterclasses. Mallory has been fortunate to be involved with local artistic groups, such as Ovation! Performing Arts and Tacoma Opera, and has the privilege of having her own private voice studio (McCollum Studios) made up of singers of all ages, genders, races, etc.
When not singing or teaching, Mallory can most likely be found snuggling with a good book, a cup of tea, and her rescue Chihuahua, Teddy. Otherwise, she is most likely to be found playing games with friends and looking for the best piece of cake in town.
